Wedding Planner
The following planner is provided so you can relax and enjoy every moment of your wedding day.
Please adapt to your particular needs.
6 - 12 Months
- Select a wedding date and time
- Establish a preliminary budget
- Determine type and style of wedding
- Decide on your color scheme
- Select your wedding attendants
- Select bride's wedding attire
- Choose attendant's gowns, shoes, and accessories
- Select the men's formal wear
- Reserve your ceremony and reception location
- Announce your engagement in the newspaper
- Select a florist
- Select a photographer and videographer
- Decide on musicians and vocalists
- Determine the size of the guest list
- Select a caterer, if necessary
4 - 6 Months
- Have both mothers coordinate and select their dresses
- Shop for wedding rings
- Arrange for transportation on wedding day
- Start planning honeymoon
- Make sure all bridal attire is ordered
- Order invitations and personal stationery
- Check requirements for marriage license
- Decide where you'll live after the wedding
- Register at wedding registries
- Complete the guest list
2 - 4 Months
- Finalize all the details with the photographer, caterer, musicians,
florist, receptions site, etc.
- Address invitations and announcements. They should be mailed 4 - 6 weeks before the wedding
- Select and order wedding cake if not provided by caterer
- Select site for rehearsal dinner and make rehearsal arrangements
- Finalize honeymoon plans
- Finalize ceremony details with the officiant
- Arrange accomodations for out-of-town guests and attendants
- Select going away attire
1 - 2 Months
- Have final fitting of bridal gown
- Make appointment with hair stylist
- Take formal portrait
- Have final fitting for all attendants
- Purchase all attendant's gifts
- Pick up wedding rings
- Get marriage license
- Plan and have the bridesmaid's luncheon
- Mail invitations
- Attend parties in your honor
2 Weeks Ahead
- Facilitate name changes on Social Security card, driver's license,
insurance, and medical plans, bank accounts if applicable
- Send wedding announcement and picture to newspaper
- Reconfirm wedding accomodations for out-of-town guests
- Finalize all seating arrangements for rehearsal dinner and reception
1 Week Ahead
- Give the final count to caterer
- Have final consultation with all professional services. Inform them of any changes
- Give photographer a list of pictures you want.
- Give the videographer a list of shots you would like included in the video
- Take time for a special night out with the groom
- Have bachelor and bachelorette parties
- Arrange for someone to assist with last-minute details
- Make sure all wedding attire is picked up and fits
1 Day Ahead
- Attend rehearsal and rehearsal dinner party
- Stay with the family and get to bed early. You will want to look and feel great the next day.
- Make sure you have the marriage license
Wedding Day
- Take a nice relaxing bath
- Eat a well balanced meal
- Have appointment with hair stylist 3 - 4 hours before the ceremony
- Have all accessories together
- Start getting dressed one to one-and-a-half hours before the ceremony
- Call the groom
After the Wedding
- Write and mail thank-you notes
- Enjoy your new life together
